We had better bear our troubles bravely than try to escape them."And she is so richly fitted for life," said Owen rebelliously.

There's an image of Wars and Battles in which a hex-based battlefield overflows from within an iPad, spilling out of its frame. It seems fitting with what developer Battle Factory is trying to achieve with Wars and Battles, and that is, to take over your tablet gaming with turn-based historical battles.Wars and Battles seems to offer a little bit more than what your average strategy game does. Not only is it intricate and sophisticated, with hundreds of different units, several scenarios, and lots of different terrain types to fight over. It's also a long-term project that will span many, many historical wars. When it launches in November, Wars and Battles will come with the Battle of Normandy 1944. Just one battle, but it comes with 30 scenarios. That's enough for one strategy game by itself, probably. But Battle Factory is planning on bringing out a new battle every two months, including: Austerlitz 1805, Gettysburg 1863, Kharkov 1943, Market Garden 1944, The Korean War 1950-51, and October War 1973.Of course, you won't get them all for one price, but it's a hell of an effort. On top of that, the game supports asynchronous multiplayer (local and online). Plus, this multiplayer will be cross-platform across Windows, Mac, Android and smartphone versions when they arrive soon after the initial iPad release. If you're into detailed historical strategy games then it seems that Wars and Battles really is capable of taking over your iPad, as that image illustrates. You can find more details on Wars and Battles on its website."No." Captain Jim looked sheepish. "Just at bedtime a poor, ornery sort of dog came along and asked for a night's lodging. Guess he belonged to some of the fishermen 'long shore. I couldn't turn the poor cur out--he had a sore foot. So I shut him in the porch, with an old bag to lie on, and went to bed. But somehow I couldn't sleep. Come to think it over, I sorter remembered that the dog looked hungry."

It's been a long time since the original Space Miner, but the series looks to be making a comeback with the multiplayer-focused Space Miner Wars.At its core, it's the same Space Miner gameplay as before. You fly around, shooting down asteroids and enemies to rake in cash and other resources.Except this time, you'll be using these resources to build your defences and take out other player's bases, in a manner somewhat similar to Clash of Clans. But don't expect strategic battles or army-building, as you'll have to attack your opponents alone, blowing up as much as you can while avoiding their defences. We rather liked the original Space Miner. Our reviewer gave it our Silver Award and said it was "sitting on a gold mine of charming gameplay."Space Miner Wars is currently in soft-launch in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore, but there's no word in when it might be available in the rest of the world. If you have an account for one of those countries, however, you can grab it for free on the App Store.TouchArcadeTill thus he 'gan besiege me: "Gentle maid,
