The Thrush and the Fowler
If you can't guess from the title already, Flappy Golf 2 is coming back with a vengeance later this month on iOS and Android.

Originally created for the 'Flappy Jam', back when Flappy Bird was hotter than Ruby Rose, Flappy Golf was Noodlecake Games' unexpected success. Following the launch of Stickman Golf 3 a couple of months back, Flappy Golf 2 is packed full of SSG3 courses with a ton of new ball and trail designs just for good measure.

Just to summarise the idea of the game is to get the ball into the hole with as many strokes – or rather, flaps – as possible. The smaller the number of flaps, the higher your star count will be.

With 29 levels to work through currently, and more on the way, its simple design and easy controls make it ideal to just pick up and play. Its use of local/online multiplayer gives it that competitive element however so see how you'll fare against your competitors.

Flappy Golf 2 launches free on September 22nd on Google Play and the App Store.
Even there resolved my reason into tears;

iOS has become a platform for huge ports lately and one of the biggest one last year was Rome: Total War, the iconic RTS that lets you command an empire in both real-time and turn-based actions.

Furthermore, the port was masterfully done by Feral Interactive and we thought it was "Impressive on every level, strategy and tactics, scale and presentation, despite the odd rough edge from porting". Ahead of its next standalone expansion, Rome: Total War Barbarians, Feral has dropped the price of this mammoth-sized RTS to €/$/£7.99 which is a bargain for the amount of content that you get.
The Farmer and His Sons

Rubicon has decided give away all of its iOS games this weekend for free. It's also put them on sale on Android for 69p / 99c each.

Some of the games included in the offer are the Silver Award-winning strategy game Great Little War Game and its sequel Great Little War Game 2.

The offer started at midday today, and will be available until 9am BST on Monday, October 27th.

You can see the full list of games on the App Store and Google Play. The list below provides some handy links to a few of the games (not all of them):
Great Little War Game - [iOS] or [Android]Great Little War Game: All Out War - [Android]Great Little War Game 2 - [iOS] or [Android]Great Big War Game - [iOS] or [Android]Combat Monsters - [iOS] or [Android]Zombies: Dead in 20 - [iOS] or [Android]Yachty Deluxe - [iOS] or [Android]Fruit Blitz - [iOS] or [Android]PewPew 2
Idle game players – or simply fans of pigs and/or coins – should be readying their tapping fingers as Tap Empire launches worldwide on iOS and Android.

By now, every mobile gamer should know what to expect from an idle game: you tap, you automate, you earn exponentially-growing profits. But what few will be expecting is a coin-obsessed, bling-loving piggy, an evil business magnate with an army of mistreated robots and a topsy-turvy alternate dimension featuring – among other weirdness – flying submarines.

Tap Empire is the first game from MeeWow Games, a small studio led by a former Plants vs. Zombies producer. Publisher Flaregames may ring a bell for seasoned idle game fans – it previously published the idle RPGs Nonstop Knight and Nonstop Chuck Norris. Fired by their boss and striking out alone, Tap Empire players will open their first businesses in humble surroundings before expanding across the world map, through shimmering metropolises and grimy industrial hubs, making money from everything from taco trucks to car washes.

Even better, players can continue to operate their businesses and rack up precious coins across these multiple areas – and indeed universes – at the same time, without having to sacrifice anything to progress.

Meanwhile fans of classic comedy will recognize Ewen Macintosh, AKA Keith from The Office, who’s starring alongside a real-world Piggy B in a series of videos documenting his surreal journey into glorious Tap Empire obsession. You can watch the first video below, with more to follow in the coming days on the game’s Instagram page.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 has only just hit store shelves and already we know of 4 additional characters who’ll likely make their way to the game as free post-launch DLC. The characters were discovered after damaminer Demonslayerx8 spent a good deal of time rummaging around in MUA3’s code.

Their time was well spent, as they uncovered both the 4 unannounced characters and an unbelievable 49 DLC character slots. We’ve known for a while who a few of the expansion pass characters will be, with Loki having already joined the team as a day-1 addition. Colossus and Cyclops will be next up, both set to arrive on August 30th.

Developer Everbyte has today launched the latest episode of its increasingly popular detective thriller, Duskwood. This fourth episode takes us back to the small town of Duskwood, delivering more twists and turns than ever before, as we gradually uncover the truth behind the disappearance of a local teenager.

The game has amassed a sizable audience across iOS and Android, with a passionate online community having sprung up to work together, share their findings, and hopefully crack the case.

Phew, it's done, it's over. After six hours of amazing streams and 27 hours of non-stop news, we've finally shoved the stake straight through the heart of Pocket Gamer LaunchPad #2.

The third day was an absolute belter, we had puzzle-exploration games, an Android reveal for deck-building roguelite The Legend of Bum-Bo, another peek of Romans: Age of Caesar, and much, much more. We had details of updates, reveals for new characters, as well as some hands-on time with upcoming games, gosh. The stream was phenomenal too.

And, with that final stream, we were done - with almost 60 stories and just under 50 games covered. Between the three days, we saw updates from such titles as Kingdom of Heroes: Tactics War, OCO, Moonlighter, Pascal's Wager and much more.

If you didn't manage to catch everything then head over to our LaunchPad hub, pocketgamer.ccom/launchpad, and, if you're interested in staying in touch in other ways then you can follow us on Twitter or join our Discord.

Finally, we'd like to give a big shout out to our sponsors, Shadow Fight Arena, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, Lords Mobile and Book of Beasts - as well as all of the developers who have taken part - who have helped to bring this all together... and I'd like to give a massive shout-out to everybody who has been involved, every publisher, PR, developer who has helped us with the line-up, all of the people at Steel Media towers who put their minds into bringing this together, the team at EG and EGLX who played big roles in it too. As well as this, I'd like to thank my fellow stream 'personalities' Danielle Partis of Pocket Gamer Biz as well as Dave Aubrey and James Gilmour from Pocket Gamer Dot Com, and the backbones of the event - the news team Stephen Gregson and Olly Smith, who helped write and arrange a lot of the written content, and much more.

This isn't the last you've heard of LaunchPad though, it'll definitely return in 2021, and we'll see you then, if not before.

For that, you need to completely erase all the defense possibilities of the animals and humans, act smartly, and go with the full force to destroy them and fill your stomach.
