An unexpected surprise from developer Giant Sparrow and publisher Annapurna Interactive has arrived for iOS devices today. The team's BAFTA award-winning adventure-puzzler The Unfinished Swan is now available for Apple devices as well as PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Giant Sparrow, who you'll most likely recognise as the folks behind What Remains of Edith Finch, originally released the Unfinished Swan back in 2012 on PlayStation 3 before it eventually released for PS4 and PS Vita in 2014.

It tells the story of a young orphan named Monroe who is following a painting of a swan that escaped its canvas. He traverses this strange place he finds himself in by painting the white landscape with ink. The land was built by an eccentric king and players can expect new ways to explore the world in each chapter alongside meeting a host of strange creatures, some of which will pose a threat.
A Monster's Expedition review - "A new type of museum exploration"
The game has a beautiful art style, which you can see in the embedded trailer below if you've never heard of The Unfinished Swan previously. If you've played What Remains of Edith Finch or anything Annapurna Interactive has released previously, you'll probably already know to expect the game to have a touching, emotional story.
Epidemic - horror text quest with puzzles Mod Epidemic mod v4.07 (free shopping) Features:free shoppingSave the world from the coming Apocalypse!     &#;
The Closed Beta period for Bublar’s stunning location-based title ‘Otherworld Heroes’ has now begun, and you’ll be able to delve headfirst into this incredible fantasy adventure, either on iOS or Android.

Once again, Bublar has made expert use of the hottest AR technology in order to bring its most vivid world yet to life, and ‘Otherworld Heroes’ stands to become all the more impressive as time goes on.

The game sees you entering a beautifully designed fantasy world, as you’re thrust on an adventure that will see your journey through the “Otherworlds”, a magical realm that exists in parallel to our real world.

After your tribe is attacked by a horde of mystical creatures, the task of fighting back the devastating menace falls to you. These newfound enemies are no pushovers, and you’re going to have to craft powerful weapons, take on quests, and upgrade your character in order to save the day.

Combat in Otherworld Heroes is designed to be intuitive and fast. That being said, if you do find yourself struggling you could always get a friend to hop in to help you turn the tide of battle. And it’s that focus on social experiences that really turns Otherworld Heroes into a standout example of the genre.

To help further immerse you in its world, the game makes use of a rich soundscape. From the rustling of leaves and the sharp cracking of ice underfoot to the bloodcurdling roar of your enemy, everything works in tandem to create a genuinely believable world.

In the future, you can expect plenty of new and exciting features, including PvP arena tournaments and the ability to capture and tame some of the world’s wildlife.

Save the Zacks is an upcoming physics-based puzzler that I've now spend a good deal of hands-on time with. The core gameplay sees you attempting to move a handful of small creatures to teleports dotted around each level. You'll do this by messing with terrain, tilting your device to change the direction of gravity, and occasionally sacrificing a little Zack for the good of the many.

Things are almost never as simple as they first appear, and soon you'll realise that this outwardly cute game contains some genuinely shocking moments. Zacks can be incinerated, impaled, and gobbled up by a tentacled creature whose rapid movements have caused me to recoil on several occasions.

Despite the blend of cuteness and nastiness, the game never becomes annoyingly gruesome, which I think is what keeps the occasional shocks so surprising. It's still technically kid-friendly, but there's a real element of danger to its levels that kept me, a supposed adult, on edge. The soothing sound design and unassuming minimalist visuals help a lot in this regard.

And I'm not the only one singing its praises; Save the Zacks earned second place in the mobile category at The Very Big Indie Pitch during Pocket Gamer Connects London in January.

At launch, the game will offer 50 levels to work your way through, though more are set to be added over time. In the build I've been playing, there's an interesting level editor that may be added to the full release further down the line.

I think Save the Zacks will surprise and impress a great many people if they're willing to give it a go. It's a smart, well-presented puzzler with great controls and a nice amount of strangeness to offer. The game's set to launch later this year on both the App Store and Google Play.
In the mood for a great puzzler? Here are 25 of the best for iPhone and iPadMoon Pioneer(mod menu)THE LARK (according to an ancient legend) was created before the earth itself, and when her father died, as there was no earth, she could find no place of burial for him. She let him lie uninterred for five days, and on the sixth day, not knowing what else to do, she buried him in her own head. Hence she obtained her crest, which is popularly said to be her father's grave-hillock.

    Why does fighting matter when you can’t boast your incredible skills with real players that are also behind a mobile screen? That seems to be the train of thought that the creators seem to have followed, as they have integrated PvP fighting for you to take full advantage of. There are thousands of players worldwide who think they’re just as talented as you are, so be careful. With each punch you give, the other will become even more powerful, so it doesn’t matter how skilled your opponent is. As long as you put your mind to it, you can be THE ONE.&#;

10tons's gory new twin-stick shooter Crimsonland HD lets you play a few levels of the game for free, before hitting you with a one-off pay wall. It's one of an increasing number of games using the try-before-you-buy business model.

But there's a twist. If you agree to upgrade to the full game, 10tons encourages you to 'pay what you want' and lets you spend £2.99, £6.99, or £10.49. "All price levels five you same game," the app says.

Jaakko Maaniemi says that his studio is experimenting with 'try & buy' and 'pay what you want' because "we have felt the increasing difficulty of selling premium apps over the last few years".

After seeing some success with trial versions on Windows Phone and PlayStation Store (two platforms that have proper support for upgrading games), 10tons experimented with try & buy on iOS and Android with Sparkle Unleashed.

"The results were pretty good," says Maaniemi. "It's certainly not worse than premium".

And it works for his studio, too, by providing a middle ground between an upfront fee and the many microtransactions of F2P. "We reckon customers should be happy that they don't have to pay anything without trying, and for not risk getting fleeced handsomely by monetisation".

But why offer multiple price points for the same game?

Maaniemi says this was "inspired by the 'pay what you want' schemes that are somewhat popular on PC, especially on bundles like Humble Bundle. We just wanted to see how something similar would be received on iOS."

And from very early data (the game came out this week), 10tons has seen people paying at all three points. "As expected, by far the most people choose the cheapest option, very few choose the middle option, and a fraction choose the most expensive option."

The studio will need a "few more weeks or months of numbers to get an idea of what the full picture looks like". But, "at least we haven't gotten any significant rage about it so far."

Of those people willing to spend over £10 on a game they could get for £3, Maaniemi says "we reckon they're motivated by wanting to support developers of the kind of content they enjoy."
&#;A MAN, very much annoyed with a Flea, caught him at last, and said, "Who are you who dare to feed on my limbs, and to cost me so much trouble in catching you?' The Flea replied, "O my dear sir, pray spare my life, and destroy me not, for I cannot possibly do you much harm." The Man, laughing, replied, "Now you shall certainly die by mine own hands, for no evil, whether it be small or large, ought to be tolerated."
