"Maybe 'twas. _I_'d rather live fifty sensible years than a hundred foolish ones."
Pokemon Masters has just released it's first story event. Players will be able to take part in a mission called Reach for the Top that involves teaming up with Blue and his Pidgeot. The event will run from now until the 9th September, though the story missions will stick around until the end of the month.

There are a few things to note about this event. Firstly, you'll need to have completed chapter 5 to be able to start Reach for the Top. If you're like me and don't think in chapters, then if you've got Skyla and Swanna you're good to go. If neither of those sounds familiar or you've not started Pokemon Masters yet and you need some guidance, we've got you covered.

The second is that the sync pairs you can face in this story have different capabilities than the version you can get yourself. So it's worth bearing in mind if something seems overly powerful then it's just for this event.

You will also have a set team, which I won't spoil in case people care. So you won't be able to pick your favourite three sync pairs. The level is also locked too so it's kind of like using a rented team more than your own. The event is supposed to be a showcase for Blue so this all makes sense, it's just a bit of a shame.

During the event period, you will also have an increased chance to scout Blue and his Pidgeot. I had a closer inspection to see how much this increase was and it currently sits at 2% which sounds incredibly low, partly because it kind of is. However, to put that in perspective other 5-star sync pairs are 1% while the more common ones sit at 3.65%.

Pokemon Masters is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
Check out our news section to discover the latest, and greatest, games.
The Gnat and the Bull喔！蛋糕！ MOD APK
WayForward, and the guys behind Marvel Puzzle Quest, are making a version of Puzzle Quest with Jake the dog and Finn the human, and it's out on iOS and Android this summer.

Appropriately named Adventure Time Puzzle Quest, the game will have the duo "journeying through the Land of Ooo and battling bad guys with totally mathematical abilities, and an arsenal of equip-able items".

As always, you'll have to match gems to do damage in a lightweight RPG.

There will be characters to collect to flesh out your crew, and online tournaments to compete in.

Sounds positively algebraic. Hit the gallery button in the top right to see more screens.

Given Niantic's recent release of the Buddy update and Nintendo's release of the Pokemon GO Plus accessory, we can only hope that players have been returning for another whack at the game. Recently however Niantic is in the process of releasing their most recent update on iOS and Android.

It's not a huge change compared to some, but update 1.9.0/0.39.0 sees small factors such as minor bug fixes and the use of capture location - the location of which you caught your Pokemon - to display on the information screen.

For those eager beavers who preordered the Plus when the hype was real, you may be pleased to know that you can now attempt to capture Pokemon using Incense with the Pokemon GO accessory, making things a little easier when face-to-face with a challenging beast.

As always, Niantic signs off with the hope of another update soon, but wake me when the tracking comes to light again.

Encamped in hearts, but fighting outwardly.
