Tale of Tales, the two-person team that created the IGF Award-winning Luxuria Superbia, has announced that it will no longer be making games after 12 years of doing so.In a blog post, the studio said that this decision is a result of its latest game, Sunset, being a commercial failure. This comes despite the studio's efforts to reach a wider audience than its previous games."Several games with similarities to our own have been greatly successful. Some of their creators openly admit to be inspired by our work. So we studied theirs and figured out how to make our next project more accessible," Tale of Tales writes.This effort didn't pay out in the end as Sunset only sold 4,000 copies on PC in the first month of its launch. That includes copies sent out to Kickstarter backers as well as those sold at a lower price in a sale.And so Sunset hasn't managed to make back the money Tale of Tales spent on producing and marketing it so far."We are happy and proud that we have tried to make a 'game for gamers.' We really did our best with Sunset, our very best. And we failed," writes the studio."Creativity still burns wildly in our hearts but we don't think we will be making videogames after this," it added. "And if we do, definitely not commercial ones."��
