Miika might have killed me with its cuteness.It's a 3D puzzle game by London-based studio Noxus that combines the cute, cube-hopping look of ilomilo, and the optical illusion puzzles of Monument Valley.It also stars a small family of furry squirrelly-things that I want to have as a plushie.You'll travel with them through the four seasons across levels made up of what looks like cotton cubes. You have to get them from one end to the other.To do that, however, you need to change the camera perspective in order to create a viable path.While the levels may look impossible to traverse, once you lock down a camera angle, the platforms connect how they look from that perspective.Take this level above, for an example. As you can see, none of the platforms line up - there's a gap between each of them.The raccoon-like (?) creature can't walk across them like that, nor can it jump.So, what you have to do is move the camera angle down so that those platforms look connected, even though you know they aren't.Once done, the gaps are ignored because you can't see them any more, and the little mite can walk across to the finish.If you've played Monument Valley, this should all make sense. The rest of you...well, I tried my best to explain it.....

As it's Shrove Tuesday (or Pancake Day) tomorrow, Sometimes You Die creator Philipp Stollenmayer has released Pancake - The Game.It's all about flipping a pancake with a frying pan as many times as you can without it falling on to the floor.By tapping the screen you instruct the muscular arm to flick the frying pan up. That's the extent of the controls. It's in this limiting range of interaction that the game finds its challenge.To start off with, you'll probably go for the biggest flips you can. But what I learned after a few minutes is that greater success can be had with lighter flips.You really have to be careful with that pancake.....

Tomorrow Corporation has revealed that its next game is a "puzzle game for nerds" that it calls Human Resource Machine.No platforms have been announced yet but we're going to go out on a limb and say that mobile is pretty likely.What we can tell you is that the game will have you using your little workers to solve the puzzle in each level. Once you do, you'll get promoted to work on the next floor of the towering skyscraper it all takes place in.Apparently, each level represents a year, so it seems likely that the game is an appropriation of the corporate ladder, i.e. you use your workers and get closer to the top.Perhaps it's a cynical take on the dog-eat-dog world of business. It being called Human Resource Machine certainly alludes to that.Unfortunately, it's not possible to tell quite yet as we don't have more information about the game to go on. But Tomorrow Corporation says more is to come very soon.Oh, and if you need reminding, you'll probably know Tomorrow Corporation for its previous puzzle adventure Little Inferno.Or, if not that one, you surely know about World of Goo. That's one of the games that the people at the studio worked on before at 2DBoy.So we can hopefully expect for Human Resource Machine to be just as interesting as those two puzzle games are. We'll let you know more about it once we get the info....

Clockwork Damage is a twin-stick shooter with a steampunk-ish aesthetic that's just landed on the App Store. It's a chunky, pretty good-looking blaster that crunches along with all the predictable enjoyable violence that this sort of game is known for.It's free to play, but it also offers players the chance to cooperate with other real-life humans, as well as being packed with PvP options. It's definitely not the most original game in the world, but it's put together with enough skill that it's likely to entice fans of the genre. Especially if those fans like shooting weird robot ants....
