Software introduction

    "If we are to be friends you must call me Leslie," said the other with an odd passion.
That didn't last too long.

Amazon Game Studios's lighthearted sci-fi adventure Tales From Deep Space was exclusive to Amazon Fire tablets for about seven months. It lost that exclusivity today as it came out for iOS.

It takes place on the eccentric Big Moon space station and has you helping out E and his luggage drone CASI escape after the station goes into lock down.

As you switch between E and CASI, using their different abilities in battle and puzzle solving, you uncover the plot behind the "Meek" uprising.

While this is a single player game you can also play local co-op if you have a friend with a copy of the game on their iPad or iPhone.

Want a humorous adventure to play with a friend? You could do worse than Tales From Deep Space. Grab it on the App Store for £4.99 / $6.99 right now.

    &#;
Halloween is two days away so it's time to start deliberately scaring yourself.

One way of doing that is looking at yourself in the mirror before you've had your morning shower. But another way is to play the creepy adventure game Sanitarium.

And you can now as, yep, it's out for iOS and Android.

It's the original 1998 point-and-click adventure game except with more tapping and less clicking.

Other than the touch controls, it also has a interface, controller modes, an automatic save system, optional hints, and a new inventory system.

You play as amnesiac Max Laughton who wakes up wrapped in bandages inside an asylum.

You'll need to creep through this eerie place and find out what's going on, solving puzzles, meeting weird characters, all while trying to get out.

You can purchase Sanitarium for £2.99 / $3.99 on the App Store and Google Play.

Back in September 2013, former Harmonix guy Frank Washburn launched a Kickstarter for his 2D metroidvania Blood Alloy. It was unsuccessful.

But Washburn didn't give up, and now he's bringing a smaller version of the same game, called Blood Alloy: Reborn, to PS Vita.Reborn still features a hyper-agile cyborg soldier called Nia Rhys, who uses blades, guns, and a jetpack to fight robots. It's just a smaller, high-score focused take on the same idea.

You're placed in levels where enemies respawn and will have to build a combo multiplier to get a decent score. That involves being fast, deadly, and accurate with your strikes.

However, Reborn has a stamina system, and so you'll have to work around the limits that it places upon you.

Dream Machine follows a small wind-up robot as he navigates perspective-twisting levels filled with deadly traps and puzzles, out now for iOS.

While Dream Machine certainly brings to mind Monument Valley, the gameplay is quite different from Ustwo's puzzler. Your robot automatically walks forwards, and you have to stop its movement or reverse directions to evade a varied array of hazards.

You'll need to avoid crushing presses, red-hot fan blades, electrified platforms, and even bosses. Besides guiding the robot, you also must turn and twist parts of the level to move through the impossible architecture.

Perhaps one of the most interesting aspects of Dream Machine is its steampunk aesthetic, as you see gears and cogs turning the levels with each twist of a knob.

Dream Machine is currently available for a launch sale price of £0.79 / $0.99.

    &#;
Ava is a stylish puzzle game from developer Stardust that aims to deliver a personal story about being a member of a minority, broaching issues of gender, discrimination, and prejudice as it goes.

At the same time, it's described as "the kind of story you'd heard at a campfire", almost akin to a classic fairy tale passed down through the generations.
